Day at the Newseum

Today we took a trip to the prestigious Newseum on 555 Pennsylvania Avenue. After leaving there I was speechless. From the Hurricane Katrina Gallery to the Pulitzer Exhibit, I was able to learn about some of the inspirational and even gruesome stories that the everyday person is limited to seeing on television. However, the 9/11 Gallery touched me the most. In a way it was a two-sided exhibit. On one hand, you have this reporters/journalists doing their best to record and document all the action that was going on during the horrible catastrophe but they were also being aware that their life was at stake. This made me think, how much do I really love writing, would I risk my life just to have my name in tomorrow’s paper? I mean do not get me wrong, what those reporters did during the ACTUAL 9/11 was in progress was courageous and unbelievable. Without them we would not have the same data and evidence we have about the situation today. But honestly, to put your entire life on the line for a camera and mic. It really makes you think, how much do you love journalism?

George Mason Day 1

Although the day started early at the airport, my first day at George Mason was already full of new experiences. First I became accustomed to the one shower , one bathroom dorms! With three other roommates, fighting over the shower should be instresting! By the end of the day I learned from Mr. Chris, that even if I do not have set plan for my career path, I can still end up being a successful businessman.
